RPI Players Now entering their 78th season, the RPI Players is the oldest and most well-known theater group on campus. Whether you are a seasoned veteran of the theater, a casual participant, or simply curious about trying something new, there is a place for you with the Players. For decades, the student-run organization has made its home at the RPI Playhouse located just across from the foot- bridge on 15th Street. From there, no less than three productions are put on by the group each year, with new opportunities always available for those with the drive to do theater. If you would like to get involved, whether you are an RPI student or local com- munity member, feel free to come down to auditions, work parties, performances, or any of the other many events organized by the RPI Players.

Dance Club The RPI Dance Club provides weekly dance classes during both the fall and spring semesters. Classes in ballet, modern, tap, jazz and hip hop are taught by professional instructors who bring enthusiasm and many years of experience to each class. The classes are broken up in order to accommodate all levels of dance experience and offer a great way to de-stress after class. The lessons are complemented by the opportunity for students to perform in group and solo numbers in their annual spring recital. The RPI Dance Team, affiliated with the club, is audi- tion-based and has rigorous weekly practices with performances at home football and basketball games.
Expiremental Error Expiremental Error is RPI’s newest and only sketch comedy troupe. All of their material is original and self-written, and they showcase their talents at two performances per semester. They combine traditional stage sketches and filmed comedy, however, carrying ideas from paper to performance takes quite a bit of work and time. If you are interested in joining, they hold auditions in a continual basis throughout the academic year. Come and be a part of the Error!
Spotlight Celebrating their first year this Fall 2008, Spotlight is a club for anyone interested in musical theater in a solo or ensemble setting and who wants to showcase their abilities. Spotlight functions as a suitable outlet for people who love singing show tunes or for people who don’t want to necessarily be involved in a full musical production. From Gilbert and Sullivan to Stephen Sondheim to Jonathan Larsen and every musical composer in between, Spotlight will perform a variety of show tunes for the public a few times a year. All are welcome to join!
Tango Dancers are part of the Ballroom Dance Club
Ballroom Dance Club The Ballroom Dance Club offers social and competitive ballroom dance instruction to the RPI community and has grown to include Swing and Argentine Tango lessons as well. Students and community members can participate in social events, campus performances, and take lessons from professional instructors for a flat fee each semester. The club also hosts themed dances through- out the year which are open to the RPI community.
